Me

I am a registered Craniosacral Therapist. The route to discovering this wonderful modality has been a little unconventional, but I believe I have more to give because of my particular path.

From my childhood to working in the film industry to running a café, each stage of my life has contributed to the energy I bring to my work.

  • Years ago, I worked in the film industry for the Development Fund of the UK film Council in London supporting people from every walk of life to get their stories out there. In a way a Craniosacral Therapy is a method of listening to the body’s story.

Then I ran a community hub café in Bridport Dorset for many years. If there is any place in the world where knowledge of human nature and human connection can be honed, it is in a community café. I named my café ‘Soulshine’, and I believe that word will always be a significant representation of the energy I want to put out there into the world. Now, by supporting my clients through Craniosacral Therapy I hope to help their vitality shine.

Practicing Craniosacral Therapy makes my soul shine. The rhythm within each of us, and all around us, that a Craniosacral Therapist works with is often called, “The Tide”.

I established a unique relationship with “The Tide” long ago. When, as a child, I was enduring the trauma of being chronically, badly bullied, there was an outdoor pool that I could dive into every day after school. I would float there on an inflatable ring for what was probably only about 20 minutes, but to me those 20 minutes felt timeless. I fell into a meditative state and felt a new rhythm in me and around me. A rhythm that had intuition and could connect to parts of my body and mind, release fear, and heal. I would enter the pool devastated and yet by the time I pulled myself from the water, I would be strong again. I believe those floating sessions saved me. As a child I didn’t know what that rhythm was, but now I do.

Later, when I watched a Craniosacral Therapist in London discover an injury in my baby’s shoulder that the doctors couldn’t find because they were looking in the wrong place, my fascination with supporting people in this way blossomed. Through light palpitation, the Craniosacral Therapist managed to work with my daughter’s bodily systems and release the pain. Seeing my baby’s buoyancy return was amazing. I knew then that I wanted to learn this way of working.

You never know what you will be grateful for. I am grateful for the passing advice from a friend, that directed me towards finding help for my baby, and I am even grateful for the pool, and the inflatable ring, but I am mostly grateful that life, has dropped on to my path, the events that lead me to a deep understanding of the innate capacity of our bodies to heal, whether from physical pain or from the most traumatic of life’s events.

I am passionate about bringing this understanding to my work. Whether engaging with an adult, child, or infant, I provide a safe and gentle space for your body to make integral connections to improve your internal flow and release symptoms.

My Space

My space is a reflection of me - an extension of my passion for healing. Resonating with colour and warmth, it is a safe and gentle place which fosters connection and positivity.

  • I love spaces and the way we interact with them. I have thought carefully about the design and decoration of treatment room. From the moment you walk in I want you to feel a sense of well-being. With every colour and texture, I want you to feel safe and at home.

Some of my most important and educational journeys have involved creating great spaces. Working on a space with a team is a beautiful metaphor for the biodynamic approach. It all has to connect, the plumbing, the electrics, the building, the woodwork, and the painting. Nothing can stand alone, it all comes together holistically. Finding a flow leads to contributions and creativity in ways you would have never imagined.

While my treatment room was a simple project, it embodies the philosophy that simple elements such as fantastic colour or a comfortable environment can spark the beginning of change - and change is good.
